Offshore Outsourcing India

India is not only outsourcing in-house activities but outsourcing beyond the boundaries, and is currently outsourcing destination of many multinational companies. India may lose hold on the outsourcing market if does not rapidly improve its infrastructure and work towards upliftment of its workforce to keep pace with the rapidly growing IT sectors. Its reign share may drop out because of labor crunch, high wages, and increasing worth of Indian currency.

Multi-sourcing to different countries is the latest trend, where an outsourcer outsources more than one phase of its business function to third parties abroad. But, recent survey says that multi-sourcing has increased business management complexity rather than simplifying, challenging your future growth plans. Inefficient management of business facets creates overwork load on outsourcer and multi-sourcing is not always successful. Outsourcing activities will be growing at steep rate in coming years. The objective of these outsourcing activities would be to achieve short-term cost effective business management solutions. But why many big companies set up their production and consumer unit in India?? Yes they do, India is most trusted destination!! Most skilled, least expensive easily available manpower provide broad bandwidth for big companies to invest and set up their development centre and concentrate on their in-house core activities. India eventually developing infrastructure puts a question mark on the replenishment of its resources as labor crunch rate is high. Indian education system is also improving and adding approximately 2 million technical labor to the labor pool every year. India has been land of cheap, skilled and diverse labor that fit best into slew of requirement of IT professionals. These technically skilled professionals and government support to outsourced companies and outsourcing model together make outsourcing to India feasible.

Inspite of the fact that India has skilled labor and stock of resources it is inevitable that India falls short of the global infrastructure that will integrate all the discrete modules for best outsourcing practices and excellent communication network. ITO, BPO, KPO and Software R & D are booming in India, one important reason is the young, energetic, proficient English professionals form major share of BPO in India.

Business process outsourcing industry in India refers to the Services Outsourcing Industry in India, catering mainly to Western operations of MNCs (Multinational Corporations).

The sector witnessed considerable activity during 2004–05, including a ramping up of operations by major multinational corporations players and Indian organizations stepped up hiring. The domestic BPO market, catalyzed by demand from the telecommunications and BFSI segments, matched the growth of BPO exports. The market experienced maturity and consolidation, a result of numerous mergers and acquisitions taking place within the sector. There were over 400 companies operating within the Indian BPO space, including captive units (of both MNCs and Indian companies) and third-party services providers. The key enabler for this has been cheaper bandwidth leading to low telecom costs for leased lines and availability of educated English speaking workforce in India.

The Indian BPO industry remains on a growth path, emerging as one of the key investment markets in the country.
